A German military plane landed in Beirut on Monday to evacuate non-essential embassy employees and other German nationals, as confirmed by the country's foreign office and defense ministry. The Airbus A321 will transport employees of partner organizations, German citizens with medical conditions, certain embassy employees, and their family members.
The German foreign office raised the emergency level for its diplomatic missions in Beirut, Tel Aviv, and Ramallah over the weekend. While these missions remain operational, many employees have been instructed to return to Germany.
French Foreign Minister Advocates for Ceasefire in Lebanon
French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot expressed that a ceasefire with Israel is in Hezbollah's interest during his visit to Lebanon on Monday. He emphasized the need for Hezbollah to consider the consequences of entering the conflict and urged Israel to avoid a ground invasion of Lebanon following recent Israeli strikes.
France Provides Medical Aid and Humanitarian Assistance
Over the weekend, France delivered 12 tons of medical aid to Lebanese medical authorities, including two mobile medical units to assist 1,000 seriously injured individuals in Lebanese hospitals. Additionally, France pledged 10 million euros ($11.16 million) in emergency humanitarian aid for NGOs in Lebanon.
