German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier expressed deep joy following the release of two German-Israeli hostages, Arbel Yehoud and Gadi Mozes, who were among eight hostages released by Hamas in Gaza. The joint German-Israeli citizens were handed over to the International Committee of the Red Cross amidst chaotic scenes in the Gazan city of Khan Younis.

Steinmeier acknowledged the unimaginable ordeal that Arbel Yehoud and Gadi Mozes had endured, noting that some of their relatives and friends had tragically lost their lives. He also highlighted the ongoing plight of many individuals who remain captive at the hands of Hamas.
