Patrick Drewes has dodged questions over his immediate future after emerging as a potential signing for Liverpool.
Drewes, who is currently at German second-tier side SV Sandhausen, is said to be a shock goalkeeper target for Jurgen Klopp as the Reds boss reportedly looks to add depth and competition behind Alisson Becker. Caoimhin Kelleher and Adrian currently fill the spots behind the Brazilian, but the latter is 35 and coming towards the autumn of his career - his contract runs out next summer - while Kelleher, 24, may look elsewhere for regular first-team football.
German publication BILD report that Liverpool have already made contact with representatives of the shot-stopper regarding a move to Anfield next summer. The 29-year-old's current deal at Sandhausen runs out next summer and although the 2. Bundesliga outfit plan to extend that deal, it is to ensure they receive a fee rather than resisting approaches.

Several Bundesliga clubs are sad to be interested in the man who was labelled 'outstanding' by Kicker when they named him as the top goalkeeper in 2. Bundesliga last season. But when quizzed by Weser Kurier on the reported interest of Liverpool and other clubs, Drewes bluntly replied: ‘I don’t want to comment on that’.
With the keeper now in his prime, whether he will prioritise regular game-time or a chance to join a huge club as a back-up remains to be seen. Drewes came through the ranks at Wolfsburg, but only managed to feature for their second-string side in the Regionalliga Nord - Germany's fourth tier. Spells in the third division followed before a move to VfL Bochum and then Sandhausen.
He has featured 12 times this season, conceding 17 goals with his side second from bottom.
