German Doner Kebab opens its first London train station branch at Victoria

German Doner Kebab is rapidly expanding with UK store openings (PA) -

Rapidly fast food food chain German Doner Kebab (GDK) has unveiled its first mainline train station restaurant in London at Victoria.

It is the restaurant group's 144th opening, and the 55th site in London but the first aimed directly at commuters. A further 25 site launches are lined up for 2025.

The Victoria branch will open at 8am and serve a breakfast menu the Doner Egg Brioche and the Big Breakfast Wrap with doner meat, two free-range eggs, hash brown bites, sliced tomatoes, onion and the brand’s signature melted cheese and yoghurt sauce - until 11am.

GDK only opened its first UK outlet in 2015, but has become one of Britain’s fastest growing brands. The company can trace its roots to its first restaurant in Berlin in 1989 followed by Dubai in 2013. Its explosive growth began after it was taken over by the Glasgow-based Hero Brands in 2017. Celebrity fans are said to include the darts world champion Luke Littler.

CEO Simon Wallis, GDK CEO, said: “As one of London’s busiest stations, this is the perfect spot to reach a diverse group of customers who are looking for a quick and delicious meal while on the go. We cannot wait to become a regular stop-off for those working and travelling in the area.

“We’re immensely proud of the brand we have created, and want to give a special thanks to our hard-working team across the country, and especially our franchise partners, as we gear up to celebrating our 150th opening. As GDK continues to revolutionise kebabs across the UK. Be prepared to get your hands on some game-changing kebabs London Victoria!”
