German detectives find emails 'linking Christian Brueckner to Madeleine McCann disappearance'

A German detectives claims investigators have found an email account linking Madeleine McCann suspect Christian Brueckner to the girl’s disappearance.

Titus Stampa told a court emails on a Hotmail account used by suspect Brueckner which ‘directly’ link him to the case.

Brueckner, 47, is on trial in Germany for unrelated sex crimes.

He denies involvement in Madeleine’s disappearance from a Praia da Luz in Portugal in 2007.

Madeleine was three years old when she went missing from her family's holiday flat in Portugal in 2007.

Her parents had left her sleeping with her siblings while they had dinner at a nearby restaurant and realised at about 10pm that she was gone.It remains one of the world’s most famous missing person cases.

Brueckner was identified as the prime suspect *in her disappearance by German investigators in June 2020, in what they have classed as a murder inquiry. Mr Stampa said he could give details of the email evidence because it was ‘related to the killing’ of Madeleine McCann, according to MailOnline.

Mr Stampa told the Braunschweig regional court there was an incriminating email allegedly possessed by Brueckner.

He declines to give details on whether the emails recovered included photos or videos.

The investigator claimed police had found a second account where the convicted paedophile had shared images of child abuse with other abusers.

He had allegedly deleted all emails from that account in early 2007 close to the time of Madeleine’s disappearance.

Prosecutors received access to the emails after making an application to Microsoft in 2019.
