Hannover 96 have reportedly secured an option to buy Rangers winger Rabbi Matondo, according to German outlet BILD.
Matondo, 23, recently completed a loan move to the 2. Bundesliga side until the end of the season, and it has now emerged that Hannover will have the opportunity to make the deal permanent should they achieve promotion to the Bundesliga.
The reported fee for the Wales international would be €1.2million (£1m).
Hannover currently sit three points off top spot and are in contention for promotion.
So, they will be hoping Matondo’s pace and attacking potential can provide an extra boost as they push for a return to Germany’s top flight.
The former Schalke 04 player had struggled for consistent game time at Ibrox, featuring just eight times this season, but a move back to Germany offers a fresh opportunity to reignite his career.
