Georginio Wijnaldum was tipped to return to the Premier League during the January transfer window.
Arsenal were linked with a move for the former Liverpool and Newcastle United midfielder, while Tottenham were also credited with an interest.
However, no move back to England materialised, and Wijnaldum will remain in France working alongside Mauricio Pochettino to try and win the Ligue Un title and claim a first Champions League crown.
The latter of those two trophy attempts may not be in Wijnaldum's immediate thoughts, however.
The Champions League will get back under way this month, with PSG taking on Real Madrid in the big round of 16 clash.
But before it does begin again, PSG and other clubs will have decisions to make over their squads for the knockout stages of the competition.
Clubs in the last 16 have to submit their squads for the knockout stages on Wednesday and PSG had a problem before the group stages that Pochettino had to solve.
As reported by Le Parisien, PSG will have to exclude a senior player for the Champions League knockout stages as their squad remains too large.
Under UEFA rules clubs must include at least eight locally trained players in their squads, with a maximum of 17 so-called foreign players included.
PSG currently have 18 foreign players, so one will have to miss out.
Juan Bernat was injured at the beginning of the season and missed out for the group stages and seems the most likely to miss out again this time around.
However, Get French Football News report that Pochettino could omit a midfielder, with Wijnaldum and Julian Draxler possible omissions.
Wijnaldum did play in all six group games, starting three and coming off the bench in three, scoring two goals in the process.
But he is currently recovering from an ankle injury and if he is left out he may live to regret not making the move away from the French capital and back to the Premier League last month.
