A woman in her 60s was the victim of a harrowing kidnapping and assault incident as she was leaving work at an accounting firm in Tucker, Georgia. The exact time of the attack is uncertain, but it is believed to have occurred shortly after the firm's closing time of around 5:30 p.m.
According to the victim's family, a man approached the woman and demanded entry into the business, which she refused. The assailant then forced her into her vehicle, instructed her to drive to an ATM, and demanded money. During this ordeal, the man inflicted cuts across the woman's body, including her face, and at some point, burned her face.
After the forced ATM withdrawal, the woman was made to drive back to her workplace, where she managed to escape. She drove to DeKalb County Fire Station 22 on Montreal Road, where she sought help. Fire Captain Shaneqwa Eafford mentioned that only one crew member was awake when the woman arrived, but they quickly alerted the rest of the team and contacted the police.
Police responded to the scene around 9 p.m. following reports of the kidnapping and assault. The victim was promptly attended to by DeKalb Fire Rescue personnel at the fire station, with no delay in providing assistance.
The victim's family informed authorities that she is currently hospitalized and has undergone at least one surgery as a result of the attack. Detectives are actively investigating the incident to gather evidence that may lead to the identification and apprehension of the suspect.
