Georgia TE Brock Bowers named FWAA Freshman of the Year

Georgia freshman tight end Brock Bowers had possibly the best season a tight end has ever had at UGA, and that has garnered attention from one of the biggest college football organizations, the Football Writers Association of American.

The FWAA has named Bowers the 2021 Freshman of the Year for his incredible season that helped lead the Bulldogs to a national title.

Bowers racked up 882 yards on 56 catches, a whopping 14.0 yard average, with 14 total touchdowns. That’s 30 more catches than Georgia’s second-leading receiver.

The Napa, Calif., native helped seal the national championship with this catch and score versus Alabama:

Bowers set the UGA record for a tight end in receptions, receiving yards and  touchdowns, for both tight ends and receivers all-time, in 2021.
