Georgia star TE Brock Bowers wins Mackey Award

Georgia Bulldogs standout tight end Brock Bowers has won the prestigious John Mackey Award for a second straight season. Bowers is the first player to win the award, which is given to the nation’s top tight end, in back-to-back seasons.

Brock Bowers has made a strong case to be the top tight end in college football history. Bowers won back-to-back national championships in his first two seasons at Georgia and has been a very consistent No. 1 option for the Bulldog offense.

What is next for Brock Bowers?

The junior tight end recorded 56 receptions, 714 receiving yards, and six touchdowns this season despite battling a high ankle sprain. Bowers will likely enter the 2024 NFL draft. He has not yet decided his future. Bowers is ranked as the No. 1 tight end in the draft.

Bowers will look to play in the Orange Bowl for the Dawgs if his ankle is recovered. He battled through the pain in the SEC championship against Alabama. The junior has only lost two college football games in his career and has cemented himself as an all-time great at his position.
