Georgia tight end Brock Bowers has been named to the Maxwell Award watch list. The award is given to the nation’s best college football player and Bowers certainly has been among the top players in the sport over his first two seasons.
Bowers also represented the Bulldogs on the watch list last year along side quarterback Stetson Bennett.
Bowers is coming off a Mackey Award winning season in which he also earned first-team All-SEC and first-team All American honors after racking up 942 yards on 63 catches with seven touchdowns. Bowers added another 109 rushing yards on nine carries and three touchdowns on the ground.
There are some questions surrounding Georgia’s offense. Mike Bobo takes over at offensive coordinator and Carson Beck is expected to have the keys at quarterback.
Having a security blanket like Bowers at your disposal is incredibly valuable to the Bulldogs’ new-look offense.
