Georgia’s sack leader declares for 2025 NFL draft

Georgia Bulldogs senior linebacker Chaz Chambliss announced his declaration for the 2025 NFL draft via social media. Chambliss was out of eligibility, so this was more of a formality.

Chambliss was a four-star recruit when he committed to Georgia in 2021. He earned snaps his first two years as a reserve linebacker and special teamer, racking up 25 tackles and 2.5 sacks. He totaled three tackles in Georgia’s 2022 national championship victory over TCU.

Ever since 2023, he became a starting outside linebacker for the Dawgs. He earned 61 tackles and 6.5 sacks over the last two years.

All of those 6.5 sacks came in 2024, and he tied Jalon Walker for the most sacks on the team. As a result of his pass-rushing prowess, he earned a spot on the coaches All-SEC third team. UGA is losing over 70% of its sack production from 2024.

17 Georgia Bulldogs have already declared for the 2025 NFL draft, including linebackers Smael Mondon Jr. and Jalon Walker. 14 Bulldogs also entered the transfer portal, such as linebackers Damon Wilson and Troy Bowles. With CJ Allen being the only returning starter, Georgia will need more production from Raylen Wilson, Justin Williams, and Chris Cole.
