Georgia QB Carson Beck Enters Transfer Portal After Injury

Georgia quarterback Carson Beck has made a significant decision regarding his football career. After initially declaring his intention to enter the NFL draft, Beck has now entered the transfer portal with plans to finish his college career at another school. This move comes following a right elbow injury sustained during the SEC championship game against Texas, which led to surgery to repair his ulnar collateral ligament.

Beck's surgery, which took place on December 23, may impact his draft prospects as he was previously considered a top quarterback prospect for the 2025 draft. The timing of the surgery means that Beck is unlikely to be able to showcase his skills at the upcoming NFL scouting combine scheduled for late February.

Reports suggest that Beck is contemplating a transfer to the University of Miami. During his time at Georgia, Beck had an impressive record of 24-3 as a starter in the 2023 and 2024 seasons. However, following his injury, Gunner Stockton took over as the starting quarterback for the Bulldogs in their recent College Football Playoff quarterfinal loss to Notre Dame.

Stockton's performance in the playoff game has positioned him as the frontrunner to retain the starting role for the 2025 season. With Beck's transfer plans and Stockton's emergence, Georgia's quarterback situation is undergoing significant changes heading into the next season.

As Beck navigates his recovery and transfer process, the football world will be watching closely to see where he lands and how his career unfolds in the coming months. Stay tuned for further updates on this developing story.
