Georgia OC Todd Monken now one of CFB’s top-paid assistants

Georgia offensive coordinator Todd Monken has received a pay raise after a championship year in Athens, first reported by the Athens Banner-Herald

The $750k raise makes Monken one of the nation’s highest paid assistants at $2 million per year after making $1.25 a year ago.

Monken is currently entering the final year of a three-year deal. There is not currently an extension in the works that we are aware of, but the impact the former NFL coordinator has made on the UGA offense has been noticeable.

The 2020 offense scored 32.3 points per game during Monken’s first season and averaged 37.4 ppg. last season (Top 10). The offensive guru isn’t the only Georgia coach to be in-line for a raise.

UGA President Jere Moorhead recommended a raise and extension for head coach Kirby Smart, who is currently entering the seventh year of a seven-year $49 million deal. Smart’s new extension is expected to be in the 10-year $100 million realm.
