Georgia mom slams Delta's response after suspected stalker snuck onto plane without ticket

A Georgia woman said she and her family were terrified after a man followed them around at the airport. Now, she is furious at Delta's response to the man allegedly sneaking onto their plane.

Laura Benton said that on Aug. 4, she and her family were followed by a man at the Washington Dulles International Airport, with the man even following her and one of her daughters into the women's restroom at one point, as reported by FOX 5.

The alleged stalker even made it onto the same plane as the family. Benton alerted a flight attendant, who found that the man was supposed to be flying to a different airport.

"My daughters at the time were panicking, crying, scared that the man was going to harm them," Benton told FOX 5.

Since the incident, Benton said that Delta told them that the man had been able to get past the gate agent while they were busy, but stated that the man was "confused and had diminished mental capacity," as reported by FOX 5.

Each family member was given a $500 gift card as an apology by Delta, however Benton said that this is about safety. "They're apologizing and they're acknowledging the anxiety that it caused. To say that the man was confused really seems to discredit the emotional turmoil that it caused my children in particular," Benton told FOX 5.

Delta said in a previous statement to FOX 5 that they have a process in place to prevent unauthorized people from getting onboard fights, however the company declined to comment on this update.
