Georgia Kousoulou 'terrified' of weaning baby Brodie fearing he'll 'choke and die'

Former TOWIE star Georgia Kousoulou has revealed she was terrified of weaning her baby boy Brodie onto solid food as she’d convinced herself “he would choke and die”.

The 30-year-old reality TV star became a first time parent in May 2021 with fiancé Tommy Mallett.

And straight-talking Georgia has cemented herself as a counter-voice to social media’s constant stream of images of “perfect” children and parents.

She’s taken her social media followers along for the ride as she opened up about embracing her post-baby body while venting her frustration at fellow new mums who snap back into shape.

And she’s been brutally honesty about her planned C-section recovery.

But the new mum’s latest hurdle came when little Brodie reached six-months old and she started weaning him onto solid food.

Babies get most of their energy and nutrients from breastmilk or formula in their first year, but it’s recommended to introduce small amounts of soft healthy foods from six months.

“Oh God, the whole choking and dying thing,” Georgia told OK! magazine.

“I genuinely thought he could die. I was really scared. You just get used to doing what you are doing with bottles and next minute… you’ve got to give food.

“I am so much better now. It just takes time, it really does.”

The new mum made the admission ahead of the release of her six-part ITVBe series which will follows her and Tommy as they navigate the highs and lows of becoming parents for the first time in Tommy & Georgia: Baby Steps .

Georgia has also admitted that when it comes to baby bedtimes, Tommy has nicknamed her “Rule Book” because of her regimented approach.

She confessed to the publication that she’s a “control freak” and admitted: “I am very regimental. I have realised that babies do actually need that routine and structure.”

But she also understands that she needs to cut herself some slack. She said: “That is the thing with motherhood, you expect to know it all and do it all, but it is impossible because I have never done it before.

“And you can’t compare yourself to mums on Instagram,” she added.

Following through with her no-comparison mantra, Georgia said she is relaxing into her post-baby figure as she revealed her refreshingly positive approach to body image after giving birth.

“I am exercising, but it’s not my priority,” she said.

“I’m happy the way I am and proud of what my body has done. One minute I want to eat well and healthily and count calories and then I am over it. It’s really hard.”

Georgia and her husband-to-be Tommy are planning to tie the knot after businessman Tommy bent the knee during their holiday in Mexico in February.

Tommy shared the news on his social media page by poking fun at how long it has taken for him to propose.

The multi-millionaire trainer brand owner typed: "Got the job done (now stop asking me when I’m gonna do it)."

But Georgia revealed she’s not in a rush to walk down the aisle as their priorities now include little Brodie, who will soon be one.

“It won’t be this year but hopefully we can film the wedding,” Georgia says. “I don’t know anyone who can plan that quickly – but I will have my moment.”
