Georgia freshman QB earns second-string spot ahead of Sugar Bowl

Georgia football is nearing the end of their preparations in Athens for Wednesday’s Sugar Bowl.

The Bulldogs practiced Friday afternoon, focusing on their College Football Playoff quarterfinal matchup against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. The Bulldogs set to travel to New Orleans on Sunday.

Reporters were granted a 15-minute glimpse of practice, marking the first media access since preseason camp in August.

With Gunner Stockton stepping into the starting role as Carson Beck is out with injury. When media was available to watch practice true freshman quarterback Ryan Puglisi was the quarterback behind Gunner Stockton. He has stringed together a couple of good practices to be the back quarterback ahead of Jaden Rashada, who also got some reps with the No. 2 offense.

Puglisi a native from Avon, Connecticut, was a consensus four-star and a top ten quarterback across all recruiting services for the class of 2024. He was the highest rated quarterback brought into the program from last years number one recruiting class.
