Georgia Bulldogs tight end Benjamin Yurosek announced via his Instagram he plans to declare for the 2025 NFL draft. Yurosek was out of college football eligibility, so this was more of a formality.
Yurosek had an interesting career. He was a four-star prospect from California before committing to the Stanford Cardinal in 2020. Yurosek redshirted his freshman year, and 2021 was his best season. He accounted for 653 yards and three touchdowns on 42 receptions that season.
Unfortunately, Yurosek never topped that production. He played at Stanford for two more seasons and totaled 784 yards and two touchdowns on 65 receptions. During that time, he lost snaps at tight end to Sam Roush.
Yurosek was looking for a fresh start, which is why he transferred to Georgia in the 2024 offseason. In his one season at UGA, he had career lows of 185 yards and no touchdowns on 15 receptions. He was used as a rotation tight end with Oscar Delp and Lawson Luckie.
His combination of size and speed and his freshman season will be the main calling cards for NFL teams.
Yurosek is the 14th Georgia player to declare for the 2025 NFL draft. More Bulldogs who are out of eligibility will likely declare. In addition, more than 10 Georgia players have entered the transfer portal.
Despite the losses, Georgia should be set at tight end. Delp started to get into a groove in the last few games, and Luckie can be useful as a run blocker on passing downs. Recruits Elyiss Williams (five-star) and Ethan Barbour (four-star) joining the team as well.
