Georgia football DB Dan Jackson enters the NFL draft

Safety Dan Jackson, a pivotal player on Georgia’s defense, has declared for the 2025 NFL draft. Jackson announced his decision via social, marking the end of a remarkable career in Athens.

Starting as a walk-on, who wasn’t recruited out of high school, Jackson amassed 140 total tackles, five tackles for loss, and four interceptions during his UGA career from 2019-2024. Jackson became a key component of the Bulldogs’ defense.

Jackson was apart both national championship teams in 2021 and 2022. Jackson recorded 40 tackles for the UGA defense in 2021 before battling an injury in 2022. Memorably, he delivered a block during Georgia cornerback Kelee Ringo’s interception return for a touchdown in the 2021 national championship against Alabama. The Bulldogs secured their first national title since 1980.

Jackson continued to contribute in 2023. In 2024, he earned the starting safety role alongside Malaki Starks. This season, Jackson provided some unforgettable moments this season, including a dominant performance against Alabama with 10 tackles and an interception. The senior forced a crucial fumble against Georgia Tech quarterback Haynes King that helped spark Georgia’s a thrilling eight-overtime victory.
