Georgia cornerback Derion Kendrick was selected with the 212th pick in the 2022 NFL draft by the Los Angeles Rams on Saturday.
It was on the 34th pick of the sixth round that Georgia had its thirteenth player this year get drafted into the NFL. This officially ties the record for the most players drafted by a single school.
Kendrick, who hails from Rock Hill, South Carolina, is a 6-foot, 194-pound defensive back with great hands. His experience as a former wide receiver makes Kendrick a versatile player to have on defense.
After transferring from Clemson for the 2021 season, Kendrick started at defensive back in all of Georgia’s 15 games, and he finished with 41 total stops, a team-high 4 interceptions, 3 QB pressures, and 3 pass breakups. He was the Defensive MVP of the Capital One Orange Bowl, and he was named to the AP & Coaches’ All-SEC 2nd Team.
Another DAWG on defense.
