Georgia Bulldogs sophomore pass rusher Damon Wilson has officially entered the transfer portal. Wilson is the top ranked available player in the portal according to 247Sports. The talented linebacker is coming off a career-best season.
Wilson is projected to commit to the Ohio State Buckeyes, per On3. The former five-star recruit saw significant playing time in 2024 behind Mykel Williams and Jalon Walker. In 2024, Wilson and recorded 22 tackles, three sacks, and forced two fumbles.
Wilson’s expected departure really hurts Georgia’s pass rush in 2025. The Bulldogs are already losing a pair of projected first-round NFL draft pick outside linebackers in Jalon Walker and Mykel Williams.
Wilson could still return to UGA, but it is looking more like that he heads to Ohio State. The Bulldogs would have penciled in Wilson as a starter next season.
Wilson is a hot commodity in the NCAA transfer portal. The 6-foot-4, 250-pound linebacker is the second-best pass rusher in the transfer portal behind former Florida State linebacker Patrick Payton and the No. 4 overall prospect.
Twelve Georgia Bulldogs have entered the transfer portal since it opened in early December.
