Georgia baseball ranked No. 9 in way-too-early SEC power rankings

The Georgia Bulldogs baseball team is ranked ninth in the stacked SEC in College Sports Wire’s way-too-early SEC power rankings. Georgia is coming off an impressive 2024 season in year one of the Wes Johnson era.

The Bulldogs hosted a regional and a super regional before falling to NC State in Game 3 of the Athens Super Regional. The Dawgs finished the year one game away from advancing to the College World Series.

Georgia will try to reload in 2025 without star third baseman Charlie Condon, who is likely headed to the MLB draft. The Bulldogs are losing several veterans from the 2024 team that went 43-17 overall and 17-13 in the SEC. However, Georgia has hit the transfer portal hard and should have a strong roster again in 2025.

“The Wes Johnson era in Athens began in a big way during the 2024 season, with year two now set to certainly bring a few question marks for the Georgia Bulldogs,” said Max Melton of College Sports Wire. “Undoubtedly the biggest will be to replace star third baseman Charlie Condon, a top MLB draft pick who received SEC Player of the Year honors in 2024.”

The No. 1 team in the SEC is defending national champion Tennessee.
