The Georgia Bulldogs (14-11, 4-8) basketball team is on a six game losing skid. The Bulldogs are desperate as they hit the road to face the Vanderbilt Commodores (7-18, 2-10) in an SEC clash on Wed., Feb. 21 at 8:30 p.m. ET. The Georgia-Vanderbilt game will be televised on the SEC Network.
Head coach Mike White and the Bulldogs have seen their NCAA Tournament hopes decline significantly over the past six games. Georgia needs to go 6-0 or 5-1 over its final six games of the regular season in order to be back in the NCAA Tournament conversation.
Georgia is 2-8 in its last 10 games after going on a 10-game winning streak earlier in the season. The Bulldogs have lost several games with halftime leads and have lost by more than 10 points just twice this season.
Vanderbilt has won just four of its last 21 games. The Commodores would have to win the SEC tournament to make the NCAA Tournament.
Georgia’s leading scorer is Jabri Abdur-Rahim at 12.7 points per game. Vanderbilt guard Ezra Manjon is the Commodores’ leading scorer at 14.1 points per game. ESPN gives Georgia a 73.5% chance to defeat Vanderbilt.
Prediction: Georgia 73, Vanderbilt 68
Georgia finally gets back in the winning column with a road win at Vanderbilt. The Bulldogs do finally win a close game game and snap their losing streak.
