After one season with the Georgetown Hoyas, freshman forward Drew McKenna this past week announced his intention to enter the transfer portal.
There was just one problem.
McKenna's decision to transfer coincided with finals week at Georgetown—and the former four-star recruit seemingly left one of his classmates out to dry on a group project the two were working on. The Georgetown student took to X and amusingly pointed out his plight.
The tweet spread like wildfire, as it was viewed over five million times and generated over 100,000 likes on X. In short, there was no hiding for McKenna.
The soon-to-be ex-Hoyas player took to his own X account and assured the student that they would finish what they had started.
Don’t worry we going to get this final done the right way 🤣

Given this year's mass exodus via the transfer portal—over 2,000 Division I players entered the portal as of April 10—it probably won't be the last time something like this happens.
Good on McKenna for coming clean and agreeing to finish the group final. Now that's teamwork!
