A George Michael tribute concert featuring members of the singer’s original band is coming to London.
Performing Michael’s catalogue of hits, from his time with Wham! to solo favourites such as Careless Whisper and Faith, the band will embark on an 11-date UK tour next spring, including one show in Hammersmith.
Rob Lamberti, the leading George Michael tribute singer, will be on vocal duties, backed up by the National Philharmonic Concert Orchestra.
David Baptiste, the saxophonist who performed in Wham!, and Carlos Hercules, who played drums as part of Michael’s band in the 2000s, will also be part of the tour.
Michael sold more than 100 million records in a glittering career that spanned a quarter of a century. He passed away on Christmas Day 2016.
