George Grierson resigns as Irvine Meadow manager after just five months in charge

George Grierson last night resigned as Irvine Meadow manager.

The respected, experienced boss called time on his reign at Meadow Park after just five months in charge.

It now means the West of Scotland League Premier Division club are looking for their third gaffer of what has already been a challenging campaign.

Grierson returned to the management fold with Medda in September, after a self-imposed sabbatical, to replace Colin Spence and James Latta.

However, it hasn't all been plain sailing with Grierson himself unfortunately sidelined for several weeks after he suffered a dislocated hip.

Grierson's decision is believed to have come as a surprise to Medda who head to Blair Park for a date with Hurlford United this afternoon in a state of flux once again.

Medda sit in mid-table of the top flight with 23 points from 16 games having won seven of their league matches this term.

They have lost their last two games having followed up a 5-0 thrashing at the hands of Scottish Cup giant-killers Darvel with a 4-3 reverse at home to struggling Cambuslang Rangers last weekend.
