George F White expands into Yorkshire with new Leeds office

North East property specialist George F. White has expanded further into Yorkshire with the opening of a new Leeds office.

George F White, which based in Newcastle, was launched 44 years ago and has grown to offer expertise in the commercial, development, residential and rural sectors, with offices across County Durham, Northumberland, Tyneside and North Yorkshire.

Now the firm has decided to open in Leeds following significant growth from their existing client base across the North East and Yorkshire. The expansion follows the firm’s two strategic acquisitions last year, which saw it add Newcastle-based Johnson Tucker LLP, which specialises in chartered surveying and commercial property, and Berwick-based Tyne and Tweed estate agents, a residential sales and lettings agency.

Richard Garland, partner at George F. White, said the new Leeds office would create five new jobs. Mr Garland said: “Our expansion into Leeds is a milestone for the business as it is sees us expand our Yorkshire offering. Leeds is a fantastic city and having a physical presence here will allow us to better support our clients as well as take advantage of new opportunities.

“The commercial property market in Leeds is incredibly active and full of exciting prospects for not only the business, but for our clients. Following our merger with Johnson Tucker LLP last year, we are now one of the largest independent, specialist commercial property teams in the North of England.

“Our highly experienced team offer a service meeting all their commercial need in one place and we are delighted to be creating career opportunities for more people to join us. Our expansion is all down to the success of our talented team, which is something that we as a business are very proud of.”

Managing director Sally Hart added: “We are on an exciting growth trajectory and our move into Leeds is the first step into our wider plans to expand our reach across Yorkshire and create more jobs.

“Our longer-term plan is for this new office to become our Yorkshire hub and expand on the same scale as our Newcastle office, which over the past five years, has seen a 500% increase in workforce due to client demand for a broader range of specialist services.”
