George Clooney jokes that his family ‘will all die’ if wife Amal is cooking

George Clooney has made a cheeky dig at his wife Amal’s cooking skills.

The Ocean’s Eleven actor, 62, and his 45-year-old barrister other half, have been together for an entire decade, however he has revealed that in that time she has hardly ever cooked the family dinners.Speaking to Extra TV on Tuesday, the Oscar-winner explained: “I’ll tell you what. My wife, who is a brilliant lawyer, she’s one of the advocates of the world. She takes on Isis. But I better be doing the cooking or we will all die.”

George went on to tell the outlet that he will “cook anything”, particularly on special occasions and holidays.

“I’m going to do a little Christmas turkey this year,” the Up in the Air actor shared. “Hard to find a good one but I found a good one, so we’re going to do Christmas turkey.”

Before meeting Amal in 2013, George was one of Hollywood’s most infamous bachelors.

The couple married after one year of dating in a romantic ceremony in Venice, Italy. They share six-year-old twins Ella and Alexander, who they welcomed in 2017.

Elsewhere, George has been busy promoting his latest directorial endeavour, The Boys in the Boat, which is released in the UK on January 12.During production, he was struck down with Covid so badly that he says he had to direct some of the film from his bed.

He told People magazine: “I was really sick. It was my first time getting Covid.

“I’m on an iPad hacking away from my bedroom. Grant was sitting on the camera and they’d hold up the iPad to Cal and I’d go, ‘Ah, go fast.’ I’d rasp out ‘Faster’, whatever that was.”

A string of other staff on the film – including star Joel Edgerton, 49 – were also hit with the virus.

George added: “He went down first, by the way, in fairness. So if we’re looking for [patient] zero…”
