George Clooney joked he made the 'terrible mistake' of teaching his children Italian.
The Ocean's Eleven actor shares five-year-old twins Alexander and Ella with his wife Amal Clooney - who he married in 2014.
The 61-year-old and Amal, 44, appeared on CBS Mornings to discuss their new awards show, the Clooney Foundation for Justice's inaugural Albie Awards when the conversation turned to their kids.
Host Gayle King asked what 'delights' them at their young age, to which George opened up about the mistake of teaching them another language.
"We made a terrible mistake. We taught them Italian... but we don't speak Italian," the star explained.
"We've armed them with a language they can harm us with, and we don't really know what they're saying."
Alexander and Ella also speak French - a language their mother is fluent in.
George also joked that, as he's from Kentucky, 'English is my second language.'
Last year, Amal admitted she never thought she would get married or have children before she met George.
The Human Rights lawyer was introduced to the actor in unlikely circumstances as she visited his house with a friend - but he was not there at the time.
"I got a call from my agent, who called me and said, 'I met this woman who's coming to your house who you're gonna marry'," George later said of the chance meeting in conversation with David Letterman.
The premonition proved to be right on the money as the singletons fell head over heels for each other, something Amal was not expecting.
Around a year after meeting, the couple tied the knot in the beautiful setting of Venice, Italy.

Speaking to Vogue after their elegant nuptials, the attorney said she never expected to start a family or find 'the one.'
"Are you going to meet this person? I was 35 when I met him. It wasn’t obvious that it was going to happen for me. And I wasn’t willing or excited about the idea of getting married or having a family in the absence of that."
Speaking of the early days of her relationship with George, Amal explained: "It felt like the most natural thing in the world.
"Before that experience, I always hoped there could be love that was overwhelming and didn’t require any weighing or decision-making."
