George, Charlotte and Louis to have 'starring roles' in Queen's Jubilee celebrations

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's children are reportedly being lined up to take starring roles in the Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations.

Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Loui s have already appeared on the Buckingham Palace balcony at events such as Trooping the Colour in the past.

The older two children, George and Charlotte, have also recently attended Prince Philip's memorial service at Westminster Abbey and the royals' Easter Sunday church service.

However, apart from this, the youngsters have largely grown up away from the spotlight - and have made very few public appearances with their parents.

But according to the Telegraph, the three Cambridge children will all take a “visible” part in the Jubilee celebrations, which are set to take place in June.

The publication says fans could look forward to them taking part in carriage rides at Trooping the Colour.

Louis, the youngest of the three who turned four at the weekend, is now the same age as his dad Prince William, when he first rode in a carriage at Trooping the Colour in 1987 alongside his mum Princess Diana and great grandmother the Queen Mother.

While the Cambridges will most likely be making appearances during the bumper four-day bank holiday weekend, it's unclear if their cousins Archie and Lilibet will take part.

Their father Prince Harry said he didn't know if he would come to the UK from his new family home in California for the Jubilee with his children and wife Meghan Markle in a recent interview.

Harry is currently locked in a bitter legal battle with the British government over the Home Office decision to take away his taxpayer-funded security.

Through his lawyers at the High Court in the ongoing case, Harry claims his family are “unable to return to his home” because it is too dangerous.

However, sources close to the Sussexes’ camp have confirmed Harry is “in favour” of returning to the UK to take part in the upcoming Platinum Jubilee celebrations.

The Mirror understands that a resolution on the security issue could be close between Harry and the Met Police, who deliver the protection.

It would see him be offered offered protection funded by the taxpayer if he was to attend public family events.

The Platinum Jubilee celebrations would potentially come into such an arrangement.

Earlier this month, Harry had a secret meeting with the Queen at Windsor Castle as he and Meghan made their way to the Netherlands for the Invictus Games.

And an insider has said that Harry is keen to bring his family for the Jubilee, especially as son Archie is now old enough to "enjoy and remember the event". Daughter Lilibet has not yet met the Queen.

They told the Mirror: "Harry loved seeing his grandmother again and he is acutely aware of her advancing years.

“He is desperate for Lily to meet her great-grandmother and for Archie to see her again now he is likely to enjoy and remember the event.”
