George Best: His Manchester United career in pictures

It was on this day 15 years ago that George Best passed away.

The Manchester United legend lit up the footballing world, with many hailing the Belfast boy as the greatest ever.

Best made his debut for United in 1963 at the age of 17 and went on to win the European Cup five years later, the same year he claimed the Ballon d’Or.

The Belfast boy made his last appearance for the club at the age of 27 having played 470 games and scored 179 goals, winning two league titles along the way.

Best is immortalised outside Manchester United's Old Trafford stadium in a statue alongside Bobby Charlton and Dennis Law.

See a gallery above, put together by the Manchester Evening News, for all of Best's greatest moments in his time at United and a look at his life off the field.
