Geordie Shore Then and Now - the changing faces of the cast of MTV show

It's hard to believe but now over eight years have passed since Geordie Shore first burst onto our screens, getting many viewers tuning in and dividing opinion with every episode.

Yes it was in the spring of 2011 that the MTV show launched with a press call on a very chilly Newcastle Quayside, where Geordie Shore originals Vicky Pattison , Gaz Beadle, Charlotte Crosby , Jay Gardner, Holly Hagan, Greg Lake, Sophie Kasaei and James Tindale, wore very little as they posed up a storm in a hot tub on the banks of the River Tyne.

Fast forward nearly a decade and James is making a shock return to Geordie Shore for series 21, which gets going on MTV on Tuesday night, joining newer cast members like Beau Brennan and Bethan Kershaw.

But for this story, we're going to focus on the more established stars of the show and just how much they've changed since they first entered the Geordie Shore house.

Be prepared for some radical transformations!

Charlotte Crosby

Sunderland lass Charlotte was working in a bar when she applied to be on Geordie Shore at the end of 2010 and, once cast on the show, soon became a fan favourite, mainly down to her on-off romance with Gaz.

She sensationally quit the show in 2016 after suffering an ectopic pregnancy and finding out Gaz cheated on her while he was filming Ex on the Beach.

Now 29, and dating Josh Ritchie, Charlotte looks startlingly different to the Charlotte of eight years ago.

As well as completely different hair colour, Charlotte has admitted to having a number of surgical procedures including a nose job and lip fillers.

Gaz Beadle

A self-confessed ladies man and lad about town, Gaz's famous Geordie Shore tag line was that he "should have a degree in pulling women."

And he certainly did plenty of that during his time on the show, breaking Charlotte's heart on a number of occasions.

Now Gaz is a keen golfer and property developer and is happily settled with girlfriend Emma McVey. The couple have son Chester together and another one on the way.

Oh and Gaz now also has a beard!

Vicky Pattison

The original 'Geordie Shore girl with a VIP edge', Vicky made her mark on the Geordie Shore house from the get-go, and was a strong presence on the show right up until her exit in 2014.

While she hasn't had the level of cosmetic surgery many of her co-stars have had, her skin is (thankfully!) a lot less orange these days!

And she looked a world away from her Geordie Shore days on Monday night, when she stepped out onto the red carpet for this year's Pride of Britain Awards, as you can see in the picture above.

Holly Hagan

Another of the Geordie Shore OGs, and just like her pal Charlotte, Holly looks completely different to how she did in 2011.

Middlesbrough lass Holly wasn't given the warmest welcome to the show from her Geordie co-stars, but after an eventful series 1, she soon found her feet and stayed on the show for five years, before returning briefly last year.

A successful brand ambassador for a number of companies, Holly is also a patron of bullying charity Ditch The Label and is now engaged to footballer boyfriend Jacob Blyth.

Holly's hair colour went from black to purple to red and back in her early days on Geordie Shore but, more recently she's stuck to a chic blonde look and her figure is remarkably different to eight years ago.

Sophie Kasaei

Yet another of the original cast members of the hit MTV show to undergo a drastic transformation as time has ticked by.

Just like Charlotte and Holly, Sophie had dark hair when she went into the house in 2011, but that's not been her colour of choice for a while now and, also like the other two, she has got right into her fitness, helping to transform her figure.

James Tindale

The lad who boasted about "grafting on his tan," in 2011, James has made just as big a transformation as some of the girls on the show.

James originally stayed on the show for four years, but having been seen putting the cast through their paces at his own gym Gym Unique, the 29-year-old is back full time for series 20.

And everything from his hair, to his body to his not at all orange skin is something of a shock!

Marnie Simpson

It's not just the Geordie Shore originals who have changed their appearance during their time on and off the show.

Sophie's cousin Marnie joined the show in 2013 and quickly caused a stir, getting the girls' backs up by flirting heavily with a number of the boys.

A former Miss Newcastle finalist, Marnie's face and body have definitely changed over the years, not least now because she's about to give birth to her first child with boyfriend Casey Johnson.

Chloe Ferry

We'll end the list with a Geordie Shore star who, while not one of the originals, has definitely had one of the most drastic transformations since going into the show four years ago.

North Tyneside lass Chloe went into the house alongside Nathan Henry and we can't quite believe that it's the same girl, as Chloe looks completely different now.

Chloe has been open about getting lots of surgery, despite still being in her early 20s and has hit out at online trolls, saying they have made her insecure about her appearance.

As you can see the difference in just a few years is huge!
