Geordie Shore's Sophie Kasaei has health 'flare up' as she awaits surgery for painful condition

Sophie Kaseai has revealed to fans that she will soon have surgery after suffering an endometriosis 'flare up' as she continues to battle the painful condition.

Sophie, who first shot to fame in Geordie Shore series one back in 2011, has been very open about her struggle with the health issue, which affects women of all ages and can have a debilitating impact on many areas of their life.

Endometriosis is a long-term condition where tissue similar to the lining of the womb grows in other places, such as the ovaries and fallopian tube and Sophie has been left in tears due to the pain its left her in over the last few years. Back in 2020, the South Shields star revealed that she cried during a personal training session as the pain became horrendous. Taking to Instagram fighting back tears, she told her followers:" Obviously anyone who suffers from endometriosis, like it's so painful.

"I've just done a PT session and I had to leave because the pain I've just felt driving home - honestly, I can't describe that pain.

"Like it's the most excruciating pain, like someone's got a knife and stabbing you in your ovaries. It's absolutely horrendous. I'm still shaking because it's just so painful."

And now as Sophie plays a pivotal role in Geordie Shore's reunion series, with her, Charlotte Crosby, Holly Hagan and Marnie Simpson, all instrumental in bringing cast members past and present back together, Sophie has confirmed that she will soon be going in for surgery.

As she took part in a Q&A on Instagram, Sophie was asked: "How's your endo at the moment hun?" to which she replied: "Oh I had a bad flare up a few weeks ago. My hormones were vile. I was getting f**ked up thoughts. I'm due my surgery next month so I'm going to vlog."

Sophie's health update comes after she rushed to hospital over the summer to try and get to the bottom of a 'mystery illness." Sophie documented the concerning visit to hospital on her Instagram, first uploading a picture of the waiting room in A&E, with the caption: "Hopefully find out why I've been so unwell. Body has not been happy with me lately."

The initial post was followed up with one of a corridor with the the A&E sign clearly visible, next to which Sophie wrote: "Now I've ended up here FFS."
