Geordie Shore's Gaz Beadle shares update as wife undergoes major heart surgery

Former Geordie Shore star Gaz Beadle has said his wife Emma's heart surgery went "amazing", as she vowed to "come back stronger than ever".

Emma McVey had an operation after she was told she had three holes in her heart from childhood, and warned she couldn't have a third child with Gaz, 34, until having surgery.

Emma and Gaz, who appeared on Geordie Shore from 2011 to 2017, have two young children together, Chester and Primrose, and today she shared a photo of herself cuddling them on the sofa.

The mum shared the photo on Instagram and wrote: "The hardest thing I’ve ever had to do is say this goodbye to you.

"I couldn’t be prouder of them both. I’m so proud of how they’re talking about it and letting their emotions out, we’ve had a lot of tears and upset but they’re so strong and caring. I can’t wait to hold them in my arms again...

"The anxiety and worry is finally over and I’m going to come back stronger than ever."

Gaz gave an update after Emma's surgery, on his Instagram story, writing: 'Hey guys just to let you know @emma_jane1392 surgery went amazing and all to plan

"They fixed the valve without having to have a replacement and the large hole was fixed and also the other two smaller holes, she is awake and in recovery.. in a lot of pain but talking and good...

"Now it's about recovery and making sure she gets back to full fitness over the next few months thank you to everyone who have been messaging."

Emma was diagnosed with three large holes in her heart just weeks before she and Gary tied-the-knot in July last year.

Explaining her diagnosis, Emma said: "Long story short, we've finally found out I have three large holes in my heart and damaged tissue which is causing my blood to pass through the wrong direction...

''The right side of my heart is now enlarged and weak, along with high blood pressure in my lungs.

She continued: 'This has all got a lot worse as they should of been closed when I was a child, unfortunately no one checked my heart even when I had seizures and diagnosed with epilepsy or fainted like it was a hobby.

''I definitely shouldn't of carried babies whilst they were there. They are baffled how I actually made it through birth with Primrose and if it wasn't a cesarean it could of been a very different story.

''Now I'm waiting for open heart surgery as the holes just can't be closed with device closure.''

Weeks before her and Gaz' wedding she suffered further health set back as she was struck with abdominal cramps and tried to keep the condition under wraps before finally admitting she needed treatment when she became too weak to stand.

She was diagnosed with colitis, an inflammatory bowel disease, and was advised to get things under control before having heart surgery.
