The DSPCA has issued a plea for a new "forever home" for their longest resident Jordan after he got dressed up only to be left hanging by a potential adopter family.
The 12-year-old Border Collie Cross was first introduced to the charity's followers a year ago, with the charity eager to find him his forever home. The black and white pooch has captured the hearts of the team at the DSPCA, but after almost a year in their care Jordan has not yet been adopted and he suffered another further disappointment on Saturday.
Taking to Facebook, the DSPCA's latest heartbreaking appeal for Jordan reads: "This time last year we did our first appeal for Jordan. We have done several since and still NOTHING.
"At this stage we are begging for this boy! He is 12 years old and at the end of June he will be 500 days in a shelter. He is a healthy boy who has learned to love life but let’s face it guys the average life expectancy for a collie is 10-14 years!"

According to the DSPCA, Jordan is a "gentleman" and a "joy" to walk and he loves sniffing the grass and pottering around. Jordan requires a quiet home with a "safely enclosed garden", and he needs a family who are all over the age of 16 and are in a rural house with no other pets.
"He is best as the only dog in the home as he doesn’t enjoy dog’s up in his face but he is happy to potter past dogs on a walk. When he arrived to the shelter he was nervous of people, he has since become famous with our volunteers, everyone loves him and he enjoys a good snuggle now once you give him a little time," added the DSPCA.
It's not the first appeal for Jordan, as RTE star Rick O'Shea previously made a heartfelt plea for someone to take home the lovable dog. Last November, Rick said that his wife was volunteering with the DSPCA when she came across poor Jordan.
Rick tweeted at the time: "My wife is going to be doing some @DublinSPCA volunteering and, at the weekend, she came across Jordan. Jordan is 11, is their longest standing resident, and isn't doing so good. He *needs* a home."
