A fashion collaboration that we didn't know we needed is here thanks to Gentle Monster and Mugler. The sunglasses giant and luxury brand have joined forces on a collection that's a perfect marriage between Mugler's iconic heritage and Gentle Monster's unfailing innovation.
The partnership features two staple silhouettes with each company's logo pasted on the sides. The Spiral 01 is directly inspired by Mugler's Fourmis eyewear that launched in 1997 from its Les Insectes haute couture collection showing how the archival trend is triumphing in the accessory world. It also comes in three colorways: black, clear pink and an ombre hue.
Spiral 02 showcases line detailing and a futuristic yet clean chrome logo on the design's temples as well as silver, royal blue and black colorways. In line with Gentle Monster's reputation for creating an experience for customers with every product, the unconventional frames come in impressive packaging that explores organic and structural forms.
Naturally, the collaboration includes an avant-garde campaign starring Georgia Palmer, who's seen in a room full of mirrors dressed in all black to match Spiral 01's hue. It also features Colin Jones wearing the same silhouette as sparks of light rapidly flash in front of her. With Theo Liu behind the lens, both brands succeed at honoring the legacies of designer Thierry Mugler and German-Australian photographer Helmut Newton.
