The day has arrived and Arataki Itto has made his way into Genshin Impact. The Geo dude and his abs have stormed into Genshin, and he joins Zhongli as another high profile Geo 5 star, though this time wielding a claymore.
Itto and his buddy Gorou are both here today, but I figured I’d do them each separately in terms of a build guide. So if you want to pick up Itto, here are the tools you’ll need to make sure he’s living up to his potential.
Best Itto Claymores
Redhorn Stonethresher (5 star) - DEF is increased by 28%. Normal and Charged Attack DMG is increased by 40% of DEF.
Whiteblind (4 star) - On hit, Normal or Charged Attacks increase ATK and DEF by 6% for 6s. Max 4 stacks. This effect can only occur once every 0.5s.
Serpent Spine (4 star) - Every 4s a character is on the field, they will deal 6% more DMG and take 3% more DMG. This effect has a maximum of 5 stacks and will not be reset if the character leaves the field, but will be reduced by 1 stack when the character takes DMG.
Obviously the claymore they build specifically for him is your best bet, but these other two 4 stars are probably ones you have lying around already, and both build on his Defense-based kit.
Best Itto Artifacts
Husk of Opulent Dreams (Slumbering Court Domain, Seirai Island) – 2 piece - DEF +30%, 4 piece - The on-field character’s Geo DMG grants +6% DEF and +6% Geo DMG, up to one stack every 0.3s, for a maximum of 4 stacks. When off-field, one stack is gained per 3s. When new stacks are not gained, the buff loses one stack every 6s.
Honestly, I’m not sure there’s really even another viable option for Itto besides Opulent Dreams. It’s literally the perfect set for him and many other Geo characters, with the full 4 stack bonus being perfectly geared for the way you’ll want to build him, increasing DEF and Geo DMG. I wouldn’t really bother farming much of anything else for him.
Itto can be plenty strong as a main DPS, just make sure you have a good battery and sub DPS to pack him up. Pairing him with Raiden Shogun and his new friend Gorou seems like a solid bet.
It’s hard to go wrong with Itto and his relatively straightforward artifact and weapon set-up. He’s an uncomplicated guy, what can I say? Perhaps there will be more wild builds uncovered for him in the future, but this is going to be your best bet for the time being.
