While Genshin Impact’s 1.6 patch this week is going to give us new hero Kazuha, originally hailing from Inazuma, miHoYo seems to be trying something different this time around. In what appears to be an effort to head off pending leaks from datamining of 1.6, they have revealed three more upcoming new heroes from Inazuma, ones that may not even be coming in 1.6. That would be Ayaka, Yoimiya And Sayu.
So, who are these three? Here’s what we know from what they’ve shared, and some past information.
Kamisato Ayaka (Frostlake Heron) is a 5 star cryo sword-user.

- Daughter of the Yashiro Commission's Kamisato Clan
- Grus Nivis (Constellation)
As you can see, she has some samurai-influences in her armor, keeping with the theme of Inazuma being styled after Japan.
Yoimiya (Frolicking Flames) is a 5 star pyro bow-user.
- Fireworks are the highlight of the festival, and Yoimiya is Inazuma's best pyrotechnician. Every display she planned turns out fabulously. —Kamisato Ayaka

Again, we have another stylized Japanese character here, this time with elements of a traditional Japanese archer. I would expect her kit is explosive based with a colorful burst involving fireworks, given her job.
Sayu (Mujina Ninja) is a 4 star anemo claymore-user.

Finally, we complete the trio with a “ninja,” another Japanese reference, albeit one unlike any ninja I’ve ever seen. I feel like I saw concept art of this character way back and everyone though she would be Dendro, but I guess not.
So, what’s going on here? Allegedly, all three of these heroes are not coming until 1.7, though it’s not yet clear on if that’s when Inazuma itself is coming, even if all these heroes from there are arriving. Timing-wise, 1.8 would line up with the one year anniversary of the game more, and would likely be a time to debut a large new zone like Inazuma. But we’ll have to wait and see.
Maybe one of these slip in to 1.6 if miHoYo changes plans, but we’ll have to see. Regardless, I think getting ahead of leaks and datamines is a good idea, albeit info for these three had already leaked to a certain extent. Nice to get the official art though.
