Genshin Impact Nahida Build: Best Weapons, Artifacts, and Teams

She’s finally here: Dendro Archon Nahida appeared as part of Genshin Impact Update 3.2, shattering existing day-one revenue records in the process. It’s not just her cute appearance and captivating story that are responsible for this – there’s tremendous power and flexibility in this little package. This guide will show you how to equip Nahida in Genshin Impact to use her as a Support or DPS for your team.

Genshin Impact Nahida: Best Weapons

Nahida’s strength is not based on her standard attacks, but on her skill of triggering reactions with other elements. Her Elemental Burst causes no damage by itself, but has an enormous area of effect, costs little energy, boosts the active character’s Elemental Mastery, and provides special reactions. On top of that, Elemental Mastery is increased by Nahida’s Critical Hit Rate and Critical Damage, making builds for her much easier.

It’s also easy to choose the best weapon for Nahida, as Update 3.2 has provided that for us: A Thousand Floating Dreams is a 5-star catalyst that comes with additional Elemental Mastery. The magic lamp gives its wearer certain bonuses – more Elemental Mastery or Elemental Damage – depending on the makeup of your team, and increases the Elemental Mastery of all allies. This catalyst is the best choice for all possible roles Nahida can occupy.

Alternative weapons for Nahida as Support are:

  • Wandering Evenstar (4-star catalyst) – increases Elemental Mastery, increases Attack based on Elemental Mastery.
  • Sacrificial Fragments (4-star catalyst) – increases Elemental Mastery, skips ability cooldowns.
  • Magic Guide (3-star catalyst) – increases Elemental Mastery, increases damage to enemies suffering from Hydro or Electro effects; readily available free-to-play option.
  • Mappa Mare (4-star catalyst) – increases Elemental Mastery and Elemental Damage.

Alternative weapons for Nahida as DPS are:

  • Kagura’s Verity (5-star catalyst) – increases Critical Damage and Elemental Damage.
  • The Widsith (4-star catalyst) – increases Critical Damage, randomly increases Attack, Elemental Mastery, or Elemental Damage.
  • Magic Guide (3-star catalyst) – increases Elemental Mastery, increases damage to enemies suffering from Hydro or Electro effects; readily available free-to-play option.
  • Mappa Mare (4-star catalyst) – increases Elemental Mastery and Elemental Damage.

Since you leave Nahida active on the field significantly longer in a DPS role, increasing her Critical Damage is a good idea. This maximizes the effectiveness of her standard attacks.

Genshin Impact Nahida: Best Artifacts

The differences in artifact sets are not as severe as they are in weapons. Since Nahida is all about Dendro reactions, Deepwood Memories is an excellent choice. The set increases the damage of Dendro reactions by 15 percent with two worn pieces and reduces the Dendro Resistance of targets with four worn pieces. In any case, this serves to max out the reaction damage you can deal.

Alternatively, Gilded Dreams will serve you well, providing a strong boost to Elemental Mastery. While you should strive for a full set of Deepwood Memories, a set of Gilded Dreams with better sub stats should be preferred.

Speaking of sub stats – this is how they should ideally look like:

  • Plume: Attack (main stat), Elemental Mastery, Attack %, Critical Hit Rate, Critical Damage (sub stats).
  • Flower: HP (main stat), Elemental Mastery, Attack %, Critical Hit Rate, Critical Damage (sub stats).
  • Sands: Elemental Mastery (main stat), Energy Recharge, Attack %, Critical Hit Rate, Critical Damage (sub stats).
  • Goblet: Elemental Mastery (Support) or Dendro Damage % (DPS) (main stat), Energy Recharge, Attack %, Critical Hit Rate, Critical Damage (sub stats).
  • Circlet: Elemental Mastery (Support) or Critical Damage (DPS) (main stat), Energy Recharge, Attack %, Critical Hit Rate, Critical Damage (sub stats).

If you’re opting for a DPS build, make sure your Goblet and Circlet feature Elemental Mastery instead of Energy Recharge as sub stats.

Genshin Impact Nahida: Best Teams

Nahida, much like the game’s previous Dendro characters, works optimally with characters in the Hydro and Electro categories – they invoke the powerful elemental reactions that she can set up. A team composition with Nahida as Support looks like this:

  • Cyno (Main DPS), Dendro Traveler (Sub DPS), Nahida (Support), Kokomi (Support).

Nahida only ever appears on the field briefly in this constellation to activate her Special Ability and Elemental Burst. When combined with the Dendro Traveler or Collei, Dendro Resonance is created, making the resulting reactions even more powerful thanks to a boost in Elemental Mastery.

Healing as well as Bloom reactions are the responsibility of Kokomi, while Cyno takes up most of the time on the field. He uses all the elemental effects spread around the environment by the rest of the team to trigger massive reactions with his Electro attacks.

Alternatively, the role of Main DPS is fulfilled by characters like Kamisato Ayato, Nilou, or Keqing. The support should adapt to the Main DPS – for example, with Nilou and Ayato, Electro supports like Dori and Kuki Shinobu are beneficial to not lose out on Aggravate reactions.

If you want to move Nahida to the role of Main DPS, the following composition is suitable:

  • Nahida (Main DPS), Yelan (Sub DPS), Dendro Traveler (Sub DPS), Kuki Shinobu (Support).

As before, Nahida and the Dendro Traveler generate elemental resonance and imbue the area with Dendro effects. Yelan or Xingqiu then create the Dendro Cores that Shinobu uses to trigger powerful reactions.

This also works without another Dendro character – in this case, you could bring Kokomi on board as Support and replace Shinobu with Raiden Shogun, Fischl or Yae Miko.

If you want to play Nahida together with Nilou, two healers are recommended, because Nilou’s special cores cause a lot of damage to your own team members and the Dendro Archon has only little health to spare. Barbara and Kokomi are a good duo for this case.
