The Dendro Hypostasis in Genshin Impact makes use of the newly introduced element, combined with some tried-and-tested mechanics. It’d also require you to bring a Dendro character along, and maybe even an Electro fighter to speed things up.
Defeating the Dendro Hypostasis in Genshin Impact
You can find the Dendro Hypostasis’ lair in Genshin Impact by heading to Dar al-Shifa in the eastern section of Sumeru Desert. Jump off the cliff where the fast travel point is and look for a tunnel.
Generally speaking, this boss is similar to other Hypostasis creatures that you’ve encountered before. It’ll alternate between its attacks and its vulnerable diamond shape, which will give you a limited window of time to deal damage.
Dendro Hypostasis abilities
Its abilities include:
- Bouncing Ball – It’ll turn into a large ball and bounce thrice.
- Spiky Bits – It’ll burrow underground, and around three spiky vines will pop up afterward.
- Kurama Rose Whip – When it transforms into a large vine, it’ll swipe at anyone near it.
- Bloom Barrage – Multiple puffy projectiles will be shot out.
- Roots, Bloody Roots – While you won’t hear Sepultura playing in the background, the boss does spawn several thorny roots that will slowly cover the arena. These will move from the edge to the center, akin to what the Hydro Hypostasis does. You should have plenty of time to DPS your target as it’s vulnerable at this state. However, be forewarned that it will cause a massive explosion after a short while.
Last Stand: The Cleansing Ritual
When it’s low on health, the Dendro Hypostasis will start its Cleansing Ritual. Three vine knives will appear off to the side. Your goal now is to attack each one with a Dendro character to trigger the activation. The process for each part will take several seconds, but you can use an Electro ability to speed things up. If all three are completed in time, the boss will die.
Defeating the Dendro Hypostasis in Genshin Impact nets you Nagadus Emerald gemstones, which are used by Dendro characters. Likewise, you’ll receive the Quelled Creeper material. Nahida is the only character that requires this item at the moment.
