Courageous Beidou is a shrewd seafarer and mercenary captain who defends the prosperity of Liyue as commander of the Crux fleet and its flagship ‘Alcor’. Players of Genshin Impact will find her to be a strong Sub DPS character of the Electro element that brings useful off-field effects and blocking possibilities to the table. This build guide will show you how to equip and use Beidou in an ideal way.
Genshin Impact Beidou: Best Weapons
While Beidou has the punching power a Main-DPS character needs, she lacks the necessary speed to truly excel in this role. However, since she has a block and her Elemental Burst remains active when she is switched out, she fulfills the role as a Sub-DPS excellently.
For this hybrid role between DPS and Support, Wolf’s Gravestone, a 5-star claymore, is the best weapon for Beidou. The sword greatly increases the wearer’s Attack and also boosts the Attack of all allies for a short time when landing a hit on an enemy that has less than 30 percent of its maximum HP left.
This is optimal for Beidou’s short stints on the field, as it is a good compromise between maximizing her own damage and supporting the team’s DPS output.
Alternatively, consider the following weapons for Beidou:
- Skyward Pride (5-star claymore) – increases Energy Recharge and damage, triggers a damaging effect.
- Sacrificial Greatsword (4-star claymore) – increases Energy Recharge, randomly skips cooldowns on hits.
- Akuoumaru (4-star claymore) – increases Attack, Ability Damage.
- Luxurious Sea-Lord (4-star claymore) – increases Attack, Ability Damage and triggers a damaging effect.
Genshin Impact Beidou: Best Artifacts
In order for Beidou to perform at her best in this off-field position, she must always get enough energy to continuously use her Elemental Burst when it’s off cooldown. Energy Recharge is therefore a particularly important attribute for her.
The Emblem Of Severed Fate artifact set is therefore the best option for Beidou. A full set not only improves her Energy Recharge by 20 percent, but also boosts the damage of her Elemental Burst based on that stat.
If you don’t have suitable pieces of this set, you can switch to a 50-50 mix of Noblesse Oblige and Thundering Fury. Two pieces of Noblesse increase ability damage by 20 percent, and two pieces of Fury increase Electro Damage. In this constellation, however, you are likely to run into energy problems.
Pay attention to the following distribution of attributes:
- Plume: Attack (main stat), Critical Hit Rate, Critical Damage, Attack %, Energy Recharge (sub stats).
- Flower: HP (main stat), Critical Hit Rate, Critical Damage, Attack %, Energy Recharge (sub stats).
- Sands: Attack % (main stat), Critical Hit Rate, Critical Damage, Energy Recharge, Elemental Mastery (sub stats).
- Goblet: Electro Damage % (main stat), Critical Hit Rate, Critical Damage, Attack %, Energy Recharge (sub stats).
- Circlet: Critical Damage (main stat), Critical Hit Rate, Critical Damage, Attack %, Energy Recharge (sub stats).
Genshin Impact Beidou: Best Teams
Ideally, you should place Beidou on a team with a second Electro character to trigger that elemental resonance – it makes energy generation a lot easier.
These teams benefit from Beidou in a Sub DPS position:
- Ayato (Main DPS), Beidou (Sub DPS), Fischl (Sub DPS), Bennett (Support).
- Eula (Main DPS), Beidou (Sub DPS), Fischl (Sub DPS), Diona (Support).
In these teams, Beidou and Fischl – both of whom could be replaced by Raiden Shogun, for example – provide the necessary Electro that the Main-DPS characters interact with to trigger reactions. Additionally, they act as batteries and generate energy particles to recharge.
Those who want to play Beidou in the Main DPS role have the following options:
This free-to-play friendly team relies on Fischl and Xingqiu as off-field characters, while Sucrose groups enemies and reduces their elemental resistance, which Beidou takes advantage of to unleash her devastating abilities.
Kazuha or Venti can take the place of Sucrose, while Yelan, Collei, Kokomi or the Dendro Traveler could serve as Sub DPS characters instead of Xingqiu. Fischl can be replaced with Electro characters like Yae Miko or Dori.
In any case, Constellation level 2 is recommended for Beidou, as it increases the area effect of her Elemental Burst and thus raises her DPS output considerably.
