An Instagram account that shares DIY tips has shown users a genius compact drying rack that takes up no space.
Kerry mum Shauna O’Connor shares videos about "realistic DIY tutorials" and "honest mom life" on her DIY Instagram account, @home.diy.diary and her followers have fallen in love with the foldable wall-mounted clothes rack that she recently shared on her account.
Available on Amazon for €78.17, the Glide Foldable Wall Mounted Clothes Rack is made from alloy steel and aluminium and takes up no room when not in use.
The compact hanger can be added to any wall in your house and can be opened to create hanging space. You can choose between two sizes - 700mm and 1000mm.
Shauna shared a video of herself opening and closing the drying rack, writing: “I’m in love (link in my “laundry room” highlight).
“I’ve just mounted this and can’t wait to use it properly with a full load. It’s really heavy and sturdy. Huge thumbs up from me on this Amazon find”.
The rack got a thumbs up from reviewers, with one explaining that people don’t need to worry about the weight of wet clothes as it can hold heavy pieces.
“The rack will take between 15kg and 20kg in weight, I have one myself and I do go straight from the washing machine after an extra spin, I have never had any problems,” they said, via RSVP Live.
“I am yet to hang any towels on it wet but I am not afraid to, As long as secured to the wall properly you should not have any problems as long as stay below the max weight holding.”
Another reviewer showed that they had added the rack to the space above their radiator to make the most of the hot air, rather than Shauna who placed the hanger high on the wall.
“Once installed we've used this almost daily so while it can fold away it's only been folded up a few times,” the reviewer said.
“I'm sure in the better weather it will be folded down all the time. It is so useful as it keeps all the clothes together that we need to air/final dry after bringing them in from the line (rather than on the hangers we had on the radiators all over the house).
“It can take almost a full load of washing and once it is folded up it is so discreet that no one would really notice it.”
