Luca Bish is desperate for Gemma Owen to become his girlfriend - but there is a massive obstacle in his way.
During their romantic first date on Love Island this week, their pair started discussing life on the outside world and Luca questioned whether he would get on with her parents.
Gemma admitted Lucas has a "similar sense of humour" to her famous father, former England striker Michael Owen, leading the fish monger to joke: "If only I can kick a ball the same as him."
Then came the killer question, as Lucas asked: "Do you think your mum will like me?"
The response he got would have filled him with dread, as Gemma ominously replied: "I hope to God. Because if she doesn't then we're screwed. If my mum don't like you it's a no."
Gemma's mum and dad initially seemed to be very accepting of her relationship with Luca - but his behaviour over the last week has seen a dramatic rethink.

Michael has struggled to watch his daughter finding love on-screen, as there are certain things that no father wants to witness.
It was all rosy at first, with it being reported that dad Michael had seen a few episode and thought Luca and the other lads were "pretty decent fellas".
While Michael had taken a shine to Luca, he is said to have wanted a face to face to decide for himself whether the Islander is the right man for his daughter.
"If Luca ends up officially going out with Gemma he will definitely want to meet him and make up his own mind on the guy. Any father would," a source told the Mail Online.
The former Liverpool striker hasn't been tuning into Love Island every night, so has been relying on wife Louise for updates from the villa.
In most scenarios, a lad would be most nervous about meeting their love interest's dad, but Luca looks set to get a far rougher ride from Gemma's mum.
Straight-talking Louise has been described a "much more scary" than her husband and it looks like Luca will be forced to face her in the villa itself.
Michael has confirmed he won't be taking part in this year's 'Meet The Parents' episode, where the Islanders introduce their new partners to their loved ones for the first time.
The BT Sport pundit has confirmed he won't be jetting off to Mallorca if Gemma makes it to the final, but wife Louise will be there to do the grilling.
Speaking to Sky Sports At The Races after watching his horse run, Michael said: "My wife will do that duty. I'll represent the horses and she'll represent the daughter."
He added: "I don't know what I'll get from Box To Box. But I know what I'm going to get from my daughter.
"I've fathered her for 19 years so I'm pretty sure what I'm going to get from her."
Gemma's pals have warned that Luca will face an intense once over from Louise, who is incredibly close with her daughter and often meets a lot of the guys she hangs around with.
"Anyone Gemma's ever met has had to impress Louise and she normally gets to meet them long before Michael does," a source told The Mail.
"Louise is very blunt and doesn't pull any punches. If she doesn't like someone she will say. It is a trait Gemma has inherited."
Just days ago, it looked like Luca would get a fairly easy ride from Gemma's mum as she was reportedly pleased with how he had treated her daughter.
An insider said: "So far she's been impressed with Luca and likes the way he behaves. But she will give him a very intense once over when she meets him."
However, there has been a dramatic shift in the mood in the last few days - with viewers growing increasingly uncomfortable with Luca's antics.
Luca and sidekick Dami Hope have been slammed for "hostile" and "bullying" behaviour towards Tasha Gouri,. who has been reduced to tears by the pair on multiple occasions.
It's even got too much for Gemma's mum, who accused the terrible twosome of going 'too far' with their nasty remarks.
In response to a video posted by Tasha's family on her Instagram page, Louise wrote a crying and heart emoji: "I hope Tasha is ok, I feel it's close to bullying now which is so sad to see."
After their first date, Luca told the rest of the girls that Luca would have already asked her to be his girlfriend if it wasn't for his mum.
while Luca told the lads: "Obviously we want to be boyfriend and girlfriend. Her mum is a big factor in how she feels and stuff like that."
It seems Gemma's mum is in complete control of the fate of Gemma and Luca's romance, but what will she decide?
