Gemma Owen admits concerns over younger sisters' fame as she teases family reality show

Gemma Owen hasn't shot down the idea of her family having their own reality TV show- but says it would have to wait until her younger sisters are older.

The Love Island star and influencer, 19, lives in Cheshire with her ex footballer dad Michael, 43, mum Louise, and her younger siblings, brother James, 16, and sisters Emily, 14, and Jessica, 12.

Her loved ones sweetly supported Gemma during her time in the villa last summer, and Gemma made it known how important family is to her while on the show, even bonding with Ronan Keating's son Jack on the subject.

So could the Owen's follow in the footsteps of the Osbournes and the Kardashians, and get their own reality tv show?

Possibly, Gemma said, while speaking to the Mirror ahead of the launch of her latest Pretty Little Thing collection.

When asked about the idea, Gemma said: "Potentially. I think at the moment my sisters are still quite young. My mum, and as a family we are all quite keen to keep them sheltered from it and keep their privacy when it comes to that as much as possible."

"When it comes to the odd TikTok and stuff like that's then that's fine, but I think having a TV show about the family, about our lives and following us round I am not sure my younger sisters are a little bit too young for that."

The star explained she didn't want her sisters exposed to the "potential trolling and stuff like that that comes with it."

However she did add, "But in the future it's a potential."

Gemma became well known after her stint in Love Island last year, in which she came second with now ex-boyfriend Luca Bish, but the competitive dressage rider doesn't have immediate plans for appearing on anymore reality shows.

She explained: "In terms of reality, I've not got my eyes set on anything at the moment. I am taking every day as it comes and I think at the moment I am just working with brands, and I am grateful for the opportunities I have got from the brands.

"I have got my riding side of things which I would love to carry on with brands in the background.

"So I think with all of that I am really content with how I am at the moment."

The star added on the subject of reality TV: "It isn't something I have my eyes on at the moment, but never say never."

Today sees the launch of Gemma's 24 piece collection with Pretty Little Thing, after completing a fashion shoot in the sand dunes of Dubai.

Gemma hopes that women can feel like goddesses when wearing the pieces, which aim to up glam up summer wardrobes.

She explained: "It's very earthy tones, satin embellishments, pops of colour. I think the goal for women to feel like goddess vibes, luxury, really feminine and confident when they're wearing it. I'm really proud of how it turned out."
