Gemma Owen defended her partner Luca Bish from the backlash he received on Love Island.
Gemma spoke to Brian Dowling on the Six O'Clock show where she was asked about the controversy surrounding her partner, Luca. The 23-year-old was at the forefront of viewer backlash after claims he was manipulative toward Gemma and "bullied" other islanders.
Host Brian Dowling asked how she responded to the scrutiny to which she said: "I think viewers only see an hour a day.

"People are put in different situations than you would see on the outside. People act differently in those types of situations. I think personally it's unfair to judge someone just off that hour. I think there's a lot more to it.
"I think certain actions might have been changed but everyone makes mistakes. You get put in situations in there that no one truly understands unless you're in there living it. You've got to give people the benefit of the doubt."
Luca took to Instagram last night for a fan Q&A where he was quizzed on his relationship with Gemma. One of his followers asked whether or not the pair were even still together, promoting him to explain their status as a couple.
He said: "We're still together and nearly official. Nearly." The couple refused to put an official label on things in the villa which has led to fans speculating how romantically connected the pair actually are.
