Gemma Frizelle has taken Commonwealth Games hoop gold for Wales.
In doing so Frizelle, who was born in Carmarthen, created history by becoming the first Welsh gymnast to win hoop gold at the Commonwealth Games.
It kicked off a brilliant day nine for Wales - her score of 28.700 put her ahead of Cyprus' Anna Sokolova in silver and Carmel Kallemaa who took bronze in the first Rhythmic Gymnastics final of the day.
Just minutes later Frizelle competed in the rhythmic ball final where she placed 8th.
"I was third on so it was a long time after my routine but I was happy with my score," said Frizelle.
"I knew I was capable of it, mainly because the coaches were telling me that. I was just hoping to scrape a medal but to come out with gold was amazing.
"My whole club from Llanelli were here and I am so grateful for the support."
Frizelle's achievement means it's now 20 medals overall for Team Wales at the competition - five golds, five silvers and 10 bronze medals.
Wales sit in ninth in the medal rankings, behind Australia, England, Canada, New Zealand, India, Scotland, South Africa and Nigeria.
