Gemma Collins has revealed that she suffered a health emergency overnight and an ambulance was called to her Essex home.

The TOWIE star took to Instagram to update her followers on her health and shared two separate photos confirming she’d been helped by medical professionals.

One image showed her hooked up to wires as paramedic staff kneeled at her feet while another photo showcased an ambulance outside her home.

Alongside her posts, the 42-year-old wrote: “Thank you to all the amazing people that helped me this evening.”

Referencing the ongoing ambulance strikes, Collins added: “I really hope you get all you deserve. Really thankful in these current times to have such an amazing service.”

The TV personality didn’t specify what had happened. The Standard has contacted Gemma Collins’ rep for comment.

Monday (February 6) saw the largest strike in NHS history as tens of thousands of workers in England staged walkouts, including members of the Royal College of Nursing (RCN) alongside GMB and Unite paramedics, call handlers and other staff at ambulance trusts.

More upheaval is expected on Tuesday (February 7) as nurses continue their strike action.

Union leaders have implored ministers to act to prevent further strike action, but ministers in England have indicated that they will not budge on one of the main points of contention – pay for 2022/23.

Nurses are set to strike at 73 trusts in England, up from 55 during January’s strike days and 44 in December.

Ambulance crews and call handlers were returning to work on Tuesday but are due to walk out again on Friday (February 10), while physiotherapists are set to strike on Thursday (February 9).

Unions in Wales largely suspended similar action after the Welsh Government came forward with an improved pay offer on Friday.
