Gemma Collins has made “life-changing” adjustments to her diet after falling ill while filming a new TV show – as star reveals she was “really unwell” with mystery illness.
The former TOWIE star nearly had to be rushed to hospital by her hero fiancé Rami Hawash after she kept falling to the ground in Wales.
She was filming More Than Daffs And Taff when she began feeling “very unwell” - the 41-year-old says she wouldn’t wish her situation on her worst enemy.
Gemma is slowly recovering at home with her soon-to-be husband, along with some help from her mum Joan as she continues to build back strength.
“I have been so ill I cannot tell you,” she told New magazine. “My workload has been a lot, but I've had a virus. I've been really, really, really unwell. I literally had to film in Wales and I was very unwell.
“I had to call the doctor out and the doctor said to me, ‘Look, I'm going to give you medicine but I actually think this is a virus and it’s not going to work.’
“I've been on drips. Rami nearly had to take me to hospital because I was collapsing on the floor. Literally, it was really, really bad. Whatever I've had, it’s been awful.”
Gemma has recently changed up her diet, explaining that she want to go organic in a bid to be more ‘sustainable and kinder to her body’.
She says she has found that small changes, including cutting down on meat, have been making “an amazing, significant impact” and have been “life changing”.
The shock health revelations come after news that the reality TV star has reportedly closed her clothing brand after signing a seven-figure deal with New Look.
Gemma ran her boutique before it went bust in 2018, but has now closed the own brand for good following her huge deal with the fashion retailer.
She founded Gemma Collins Collection in 2013 and also set up Gemma Collins Ltd to handle her TV appearances.
An insider says Gemma agreed to the long-term deal with New Look in April, where she had an extravagant launch party to celebrate the contract.
"It had been Gemma’s dream to have her own clothes range since she was a kid and it was popular with customers,” a source from the fashion industry told The Sun.
"But now she’s an ambassador for New Look it didn’t make sense for her to continue with her own range as she’ll be designing clothes with the firm's creative team. New Look is one of the biggest in the business so she took the difficult decision to close down her own range."
