Gemma Collins’ boyfriend James Argent reveals he wants to lose seven stone before considering Dancing on Ice

Gemma Collins’ beau James Argent has told how he wants to drop seven stone in weight over the course of the year.

The reality TV star revealed that he would want to be in a “good position” before potentially appearing on Dancing on Ice next year.

He told the Sun: “If I was to do Dancing On Ice next year I'd want to lose seven stone. By this time next year I'd be a year and a half sober so I'd be in a pretty good position to do it.

"Gemma would love to see me do the show, purely for the fact that I'd go through everything that she's gone through.”

Opening up on his new regime, Argent added: “I'm starting a diet this week. I'll potentially go to boot camp to kick start it - then it's something that I'm going to maintain throughout the year.

“I love boxing as well as running, walking and tennis - that's kind of the sport I'm going to be doing."

The star, 31, also told how he was impressed with girlfriend Collins’ two-stone weight loss during her time on the show.

He explained: “She looks great at the moment. It would be good if she could continue her fitness, but that's down to Gemma.

"It was never about her being fit - I just wanted to push her to do as well as she possibly could have done in the competition."

The comments come after speculation that Argent supposedly spoke to show bosses about signing up during Collins' exit from the show over the weekend.

Gemma Collins gets voted off Dancing On Ice

A source told the publication: “The Dancing on Ice bosses are keen on him too after Gemma's success on the show - she made it the most talked about show this year.

“James has been bowled over by how much weight Gemma has lost since being on the show - he is raring to go and told them he wants to be partnered up with Brandee Malto."

A representative for Dancing on Ice previously told the Standard: "Talks haven't begun for the next series of Dancing on Ice."

Collins and skating partner Matt Evers were booted off the ice on Sunday night, after a final skate off against fellow competitor Ryan Sidebottom.
