Gemma Collins’ boyfriend James 'Arg' Argent has said he is “ashamed” over sending her fat shaming messages, insisting he loves her with ‘all his heart’.
Argent told Collins she has “more rolls than Greggs” after she kicked him out of their Essex home for sharing a video of her snoring in bed with his 761,000 Instagram followers.
Argent said they had both said “nasty” comments, but that he “deeply regrets” getting personal about her weight as he now weighs more than her.
“They were sent in the heat of the moment,” he told OK! “We were having a huge row because she was angry with me for posting the video of her snoring on social media. She’d kicked me out of her flat and things got nasty between us.
“I deeply regret what I said but Gemma gave as good as she got, we both said some very nasty, hurtful things to each other.”
He continued: “I have problems with my own weight so I’m the last person who should be trying to fat shame. It’s a bit pot, kettle, black as Gemma lost two stone doing Dancing on Ice so I actually weigh more than she does now.”
Argent posted, and swiftly deleted, the snoring video last week. He said Collins confiscated his house keys and tickets to see the Chris Eubank Jr vs Jason Degale boxing match before organising “a removal van to take all my clothes and my Vesper back to my mum and dad’s”.
Speaking about their future together, Argent said he believes the only way to make their relationship work is to seek couples therapy.
“I want to spend my life with Gemma and I want us to have kids, but for that to happen we need to change the way we can be with each other,” he said.
“We haven’t spoken about it but I think it would be good for us to have some couples counselling if we do get back together.”
The split came as Collins’ mother Joan Collins was admitted to hospital and Gemma was forced to call the police after claiming she was being stalked by a man who had targeted her online and hurled vile abuse at her in public.
